This is why every day we commit ourselves to develop environmentally friendly baby apparel and products that respect the rights of all workers, that do not harm the planet or have as little impact as possible, while guaranteeing the highest quality and safety.
Environmental sustainability is a principle that makes us at J BIMBI® particularly proud because we provide products for children, and children are the future. We are aware that the world they will live in will be the one they inherit from us.
0-36 month bodysuits = less environmental impact
0-36 month bodysuits play their part in protecting the environment because by dressing babies with 0-36 months one-size bodysuit, the amount of bodysuits needed during their growth decreases. This saves energy and water for production and reduces disposal issues.
Let's calculate this together:
Traditional bodysuits cover the first 36 months of a baby’s life with about 9 sizes. Assuming one skips a few sizes during growth and assuming that about 10 bodysuits per size are required, a baby would use about 50 bodysuits (5 sizes x 10 bodysuits) in the first 3 years of life.
Therefore, the minimum amount of bodysuits is 50, but we are all well aware that the amount of bodysuits used, or at least purchased, can increase taking into account impulse buying (“that bodysuit is too cute; I must buy it!”), replacement of damaged/stained bodysuits and, above all, any gifts received from friends and relatives, especially in the first few months, when the baby grows at lightning speed and many items remain unused.
Using the one-size J BIMBI® bodysuits for newborns, which can be worn from birth to 3 years of age, 10 bodysuits are theoretically sufficient (1 size x 10 bodysuits) meaning a saving of 40 bodysuits per baby!
If we were to do this calculation on a national scale based on 400,000 births per year, the number of bodysuits that could potentially be saved is 16 million in Italy alone!
Organic cotton = saving resources and respecting the environment and people
J BIMBI® bodysuits, which have always been OEKO-TEX® certified – meaning they are free from harmful substances – can now also vaunt Organic Cotton models with GOTS certification because they are made from organic cotton.
J BIMBI® bodysuits are produced in a carefully selected company that is SA8000 certified, an important ethical validation that allows for the management and monitoring of every activity and process regarding people’s working conditions. Specifically, consideration is given to human rights, child labor, youth and child labor in general, professional development, enhancement and growth, working hours and pay, health and safety of workers.

Bamboo fibre
In the world of bodysuits 0-36 months J BIMBI® comes the line in bamboo fibre.
Even softer, even more natural, even more sustainable… always one size fits all!
Bamboo fibre is extremely soft to the touch and gentle on the skin and represents a valid alternative to cotton.
The resulting fabric is highly breathable, absorbing moisture and body perspiration, ensuring that your baby always stays cool and dry. In fact, even during the hottest days it is able to keep the body temperature one or two degrees below normal.
Bodysuits made of bamboo fibre also protect the skin from ultraviolet rays and naturally have antibacterial and anti-odour properties.
The J BIMBI® bamboo bodysuit is an ideal choice for newborns due to its natural properties and sustainability.
Glass feeding bottles = more hygiene and less plastic
In addition to being a safe, hygienic and perfectly sterilisable material, glass is natural, environmentally friendly and 100% recyclable. Choosing a glass feeding bottle means ensuring greater hygiene for babies during their first months of life, when they need it the most. At the same time, it means reducing plastic consumption, an issue that affects our society and is worth fighting for with small actions like this
Responsible packaging = more recycling and less plastic
We are working to reduce and remove all plastic packaging from our products, replacing plastic with recycled or FSC-certified paper and cardboard.
Regarding the remaining plastic packaging, they are all recyclable and were designed to be reused as containers (for example the sterilpods, containers for pacifiers, can be used as containers and to sterilize pacifiers in the microwave).
